Shepherd / Mixed (short coat) Dog

Huck the Dog needs a home

Please contact Maggie ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.

Huck is a handsome three year old German shepherd mix. This good looking guy is just as sweet as he is gorgeous.  Looking at him now, you would never know he was a stray! After settling into his foster home, he successfully underwent heartworm treatment and now has a clean bill of health. He is so loving, he could easily be known as Romeo. He absolutely adores people and loves other dogs. However, he is best suited for a home with a female dog, preferably close to his own size. Speaking of size, Huck weighs about 55 pounds. Huck would probably do best in a home without small children as he can get a bit rambunctious. He loves to go for walks. Huck seems to have a bit of swagger when he walks. He seems to know he is beautiful!  One of his favorite past times is playing in his baby swimming pool. He enjoys tennis balls and chew toys, but his absolute favorite thing in the world is spending time with you. He needs a big yard to run and play in, but is content sleeping in a big crate at night. Huck is UTD on shots. All he needs now is a family to call his own , so we have partnered with The Chi Society to find him a stable, loving home in the Northeast. Please email [email protected] to apply for or inquire further about this gorgeous guy!

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog. Thank you for considering a rescued pet and we look forward to helping you find a great dog match--
